snow camo
« on: January 08, 2014, 11:49:04 PM »
im trying to find some good snow camo. Im not real worried about patterns. I need a camo that is warm, waterproof, and quiet!  I have been using fleece as my hunting gear(m2d fleece) and im happy with it but I bet I stickout like a sore thumb when every thing is covered in snow/ frost. I need good gear cause im hell on my gear. I have found vary little gear that can stand up to my style of hunting. If money was no object and you could have any winter clothing/suite you wanted what would it be. I've thought of making my own but im no seamstress   I can sew when needed by hand or machine but im sure id be happier with well built gear made by professionals.

Best snow camo ever???

EASY!   For warmth, just wear whatever warm clothing you want, then get a super cheap set of TYVEX coveralls from any kind of Lowes type store....
They are pretty good at keeping moisture in and out.

It's the same stuff they insulate houses with, and they make it into cheap coveralls for hazardous work. Like Painting or sand blasting.

The cheap ones will run you like $10 for a box of a hand full of 'em.

You can just wear 'em over your warm hunting clothes, and they are perfect snow white camo!
OR.... you can add some spray paint to them for a super cheap Shadow Snow camo!

PLUS... they fold up into a very small package. About the size of a gallon ziplock, flat.
You can keep a set in your truck, if you ever need to do some road side repairs, or road side hunts. lol...
Seriously, they work great.

Just remember to get a size bigger than you so you can layer underneath.

Im not looking for budget snow camo im looking for the best I can get. I want to be able to lay prone in the snow for a 30 min set and be comfortable all day long doing this every hour or so. I also need to be comfortable while packing to my next set. While doing all this im fighting limited daylight and need all noise to a bare minimum.

I looked at the kings but didn't like some of the reviews( focused on zipper quality and waterproofing and noise. Im quite happy with my fleece suit now but it's not waterproof and not snow camo. Its super quiet and keeps me warm. Is there any good polor/artic gear that's fur or fleece covered? I looked in to some of the military artic gear but it did not look like quiet material.

It is budget heance why im not happy with its performance. Its quiet. That's the biggest plus. It's not working out hence why im looking for better gear.

Problem with winter camo is its a small market, so there isnt all the availbale options like regular camo.
