I'm upgrading my pack from a Mystery Ranch BDSB, to a Kifaru Nomad.
I upgraded from a Marmot Trestle 15° synthetic bag to an Enlightened Equipment Revelationx 10° down quilt, and I added an MSR E-bivy.
I added a Zpacks Hexamid Solo Plus for solo trips so I don't have pack my Golite SL3.
I'm thinking about replacing my Winchester model 70, with a Tikka T3 light to shave weight.
I sold my Swaro spotter to fund some of these changes, and I'm replacing it with a Vortex Razor HD.
I am also adding  Slik tripod with a Manfroto 700 RC head.
I got some Kuiu and Kryptek clothing for my birthday and Christmas, so now I am pretty set. I don't plan on any upgrades for a few years. I had to get pretty creative to come up with the cash for a lot of my gear changes, but I dropped a little over 12 pounds off my pack.

That's like over $1000 in changes atleast  :yike:

Ha,ha, yes, over. Like I said, I had to get creative to come up with the cash. None of the money for any of my gear comes out of my daily budget. I either save money a little at a time, sell gear that I don't use any more, or ask for gear or gift cards for birthdays, Christmas, etc. That is why I research and by quality gear that fits my needs the first time, if possible. It's a slow process, it took me years to get to this point, where I am happy with almost every piece of gear I use.

I use the Hunting GPS Maps on my phone, which kills/destroys the battery quick. I might have to step up to an actual GPS. I have no other use for my phone up there other than pictures and the GPS app.
 :dunno:
I was thinking about getting one of those battery pack/case deals that actually attaches to your phone or a battery pack recharger that runs off of AA batteries.

Before you buy one call me. Have a connection

I haven't decided if I am going to do the high hunt again this year or not, but before I go again I'll be replacing my shelter for sure.  Maybe drop some of the extra layers, and I'll probably drop some of the food and add a small spinning rod next time.  Some big trout in some of the backcountry lakes!

Switching my tent out for a bivy, and debating on getting a lighter rifle. My Rem700 SPS-tac is a tank. Also I need to pickup a shooting stick that doubles as a hiking pole.

Yes, please bring it. I haven't bought one yet. Are you going over Friday or Saturday?

I changed my pack. I have been using a Bianchi for about 10-12 years and it's a good pack but starting to wear.  A couple of years ago, I bought a BL 2200, but it's way too much pack for day trips even though they call it a day pack. I sold that to a member and picked up a BL Source for $110. Really lightweight and has all the features I need for a day pack.

I have some new Phelps game calls. And, I've got a new knife coming from Wazukie next week - I can't wait to see it!

Why not a lightweight solar charger like a Goal Zero? :dunno:
Or that...I think the Brunton is the good one though. Not sure.

Last time I was researching them last year, the Goal Zero was on the bottom of my list.  Seemed to be the most popular, but I found 4 or 5 other brands I felt were better.  Not sure what's new on the market this year though.
