First pick what weapon you want to hunt with. Then get a regulation book and read it. Then get out this spring and start hiking around watching deer. Treat it as if your hunting . You should learn enough by the time hunting season rolls around. Early morning and right before sundown are the best times. Learning how the deer act will make all times of the day a good time. feel free to PM me for more!
Just tend your own and live.

Also, do some research on the WDFW website to find out which areas of the state have high hunter success rates and which don't.  That can reduce the learning curve quite a bit by concentrating your efforts where deer exist in high numbers.

Might check out Joint Base Lewis McChord (goggle JBLM MWR Outdoor Rec).  :dunno: Checking in and out can be a pain  :bash: and some people have issues with registering their guns :yike:, but the 10$ registration fee is alot better the the access fees the forest companies are charging.  :twocents:

Their is tons of good spot right around the area you live. some of them you have to work at it but you'll get a nice buck. just start scouting.
