Hunting wolves with a golden eagle gaining popularity
« on: February 08, 2014, 02:04:18 PM »
Been looking into "old school" effective ways to hunt down and kill predators. Found this one to be pretty awesome and highly effective way to take down wolves , coyotes, cats , deer and it's been around for a couple thousand years who knew.
Golden Eagle vs Grey Wolves, golden eagle kills a bunch of grey wolves. no contest

any thoughts?

There are a few videos out there about using eagles on wolves, if you notice they are all in Asia/Mongolia, the wolf species they are hunting are small like our coyotes, I wished eagles could control our wolves but these big Canadian grays we have would devastate an eagle with one bite.

I don't know they have some of these golden eagles taking down BLACK Bears and deer  but I know the gray is still larger than those dogs on the video  but that doesn't change the impact of diving smashing the dogs head down and than using talons on the jugular lol

There were at least  two wolves shown that were a  damn sight bigger than any coyote,  not as big as a Canadian gray but those trained birds would do the same to some juveniles.

Yes I agree on pups, probably lots of critters would eat young gray wolf pups when they get a chance, but I think there is an adult wolf with the pups most of the time. That probably explains why there is such good survival with wolf pups.

I don't care how big those so called wolves were, they were big enough that at first glance you'd think they had at least even odds with the birds.  But give credit to the birds, those eagles are bad a$$.  And just think, there are even bigger species of eagles in other areas of the world.
