Trapper exams?
« on: January 29, 2014, 12:18:17 PM »
How would I go about finding the score I got on the trappers exam? I took the test last year and was issued my trappers card but was never informed of the score I recieved on the test.

I doubt there is any record. Probably whoever graded it confirmed you passed and issued the certification. Then promptly forgot about it. The grades are not archived.

Can you do the whole course online?

WDFW does have an downloadable manual. I reccomend you buy one from WSTA. The online version does not have the content of the printed version and when you start trapping it will help you especially when it comes to fur handling.
You can study the maual at home and then take the test at a WDFW Regional office.

You'll get more out of the class if you attend one I believe.

You will get more out of the class for sure.  Then head for the WSTA Annual Rendezvous this July, you even get more out of it.

I added this to the top of the trapping forum in
 http://hunting-washington.com/smf/index.php/topic,88934.0.html

Most of our classes are scheduled when we get enough students signed up to warrant a class. George Brady (509)923-2326 is our Trapper Education Coordinator and if you wish to take a class it is very important to call him and register. The sooner you register the sooner we will have a class.
So why you ask don't you just schedule a class and post it?
We do have two classes we hold for sure every year. One is at our Summer Rendezvous which will be in Eastern WA usually at Cashmere. Look at the Events page on http://watrappers.com/ for info about our Rendezvous. The other is held in the fall in Western WA usually in the Olympia area. The scheduling of that is firmed up in early fall. We do hold other classes in other areas and at different times as student registration warrants it.
So why do we do it that way?
We will hold a class for one student if needed but we prefer to get a few students together at one time. We have held classes when only one person showed and we try to avoid that. It's a lot of work and expense to make arrangements for a big class and then only one person show.
Again call George Brady (509)923-2326

I want to get into trapping,With all the trappers on this forum I would think that a lot of study manuals would be out there as well,Anyone interested in paying it forward to others and then they pay it forward to the next?
