Blogger gets run down by wolves
« on: February 17, 2014, 11:20:43 AM »
http://www.todayifoundout.com/index.php/2014/02/bloggers-tale-said-blogger-decides-venture-doors-nearly-gets-consumed-wolves/

I wonder how many more times this will happen before some one gets hurt. Im not sure how much of this is true but I dont seem to doubt any of it. There is a paragragh in this unknowing bloggers story that seems to suggest that the only way to be safe in the woods these days is to be armed and to shoot wolves. Interesting.

I have a friend who was surrounded by wolves when getting in his deer stand this winter in December in the early morning dark. The wolves hung around for a long time afterward. This happened in the southern end of GMU 121 not too far from where this story takes place. I would imagine this story is true too.  :yike:

I also have a lady friend living in GMU 111 who was stalked by wolves when out walking the Aladdin Highway, she said she will never go walking again without a gun.  :yike:

That's a well written, rather humorous story and thankfully one with a good ending. It does appear there are a growing number of instances of wolves following and tracking humans, although to date the number of actual attacks is small.

In areas with wolf densities like that, I would carry some form of protection.
Nature. It's cheaper than therapy.

Yes that's the real problem, people need to shoot at them and they will start acting like wolves up north that avoid humans. WDFW wolf policies need a bit of revamping.  :twocents:

I love guns and almost always have one on me, but most civilians don’t look at the world as if there is always something out there hunting them. That mindset is more reserved for folks in LEO and Military lines of work. I agree with you guys, if this would have been my story, the lead to air percentage would have been high.

Thought I recognized the pics...It's 2 miles from my house..Clark Lake.. We did a luncheon for the Cedonia Church on Friday and the pastor knows the father of the guy that was chased. . Wondered why I've heard the helicopters flying around lately ;). Locked and loaded in Gifford..just for personal protection of course.
Thanks for all for your past support...We officially pulled the plug and have retired from the Biz. Still dabble a little in real estate.

"...If I was a wolf, I'd eat me too!" I like that line!

Think about it, in all the literature of antiquity, think about how feared and vilified the wolf was... Why? Because they didn't have firearms back then! (Or very ineffective ones.) Even unarmed humans fight back, so there has always been some respect on the wolf's part, but without bullets crashing into the dirt around them, or into their compatriots, the danger is going to eventually be very, VERY real.

(Hundreds of times more real than with Cougars.)
