New to washington
« on: February 20, 2014, 11:03:20 AM »
Good Morning everyone,

My name is Robert and I am new to hunting in washington State and live in lake stevens. Relocated here from Oregon 8 years ago and life took me away from the mountains for a while. Well I am going to be start back up this fall. I hunted for 15 years down there in the coastal mountains for deer and elk in areas I grew up hunting with my Dad. So I am pretty familar with tracking, stalking and calling.

What I am not efficient in is where to start here for scouting. I am pretty sure Mt Baker/Snoqualmie nation forest is the place to be from what I have read and researched.

What im not looking directions to your fire trail roads, logging roads and clear cuts that are your favorite spots.

I am just looking for a few GMU areas that would be good for me to start to scout for high powered rifle season for deer and elk, research, explore and find my own locations for deer/elk camp.

I look forward to talking with a you and sharing experiences and info.

thanks!

robert

Can't really offer you much advice on that side of the state, but welcome to the forum.  :hello:
Be more concerned with your character than your reputation. Your character is who you actually are while your reputation is merely who others think you are.

Right in your back yard is the Glacier Peak wilderness. Head up there lots of great places to go there.
The only man who never makes a mistake, is the man who never does anything!!
The further one goes into the wilderness, the greater the attraction of its lonely freedom.
