It would be worth your time and effort to be at Cabelas-Tulalip on Sat Mar 15th from noon to 2pm for the free turkey hunting clinic .... see previous thread .... or spend some time reading all the past threads of this forum. You can also visit the NWTF website, click on hunting tab, and then tips and tactics.
Plenty of public land in Colville area - you can get a DNR map from the Colville office for approx $10 which shows all public land .... or go to
www.mapmet.com and click on the turkey tab on top.
Turkeys are available from 1/2 hour before sunrise to 1/2 hour after sunset ... they start on the roost, go to feeding/watering/breeding areas after flydown, then the tom will go to some of his strut zones, then the hens rejoin him for some more feeding/watering, and finally return to the roost.
I've taken birds from10 to 80 degrees .... rain, sun, snow, wind, you name it. It's what you make of it and knowing where to be as the weather changes.
Did I mention to come to the free turkey hunting clinic at Cabelas- Tulalip (see previous thread - pre-register for a seat is required as this will fill up fast - the clinic covers everything you need to know).
