Turkey Chokes

I just bought a Beretta A300 Outlander semiauto. After the turkey hunting class at Cabelas I know that I need a turkey full choke, but what brand should I buy for my shotgun?

I shot a true glow for years. Have a Primos on my new gun now. You don't have to break the bank for a turkey choke.

I've had great success with my factory "extra full" turkey choke ... I'm no expert on the other type of chokes available, but I guess it comes down to is how much do you want to spend for the added advantage gained.  Dependent on the replies given here, you may still want to discuss it with the sporting goods personnel that you go to.   Also check past threads on chokes on this forum.  Good luck chief and thanks so much for your service!

Try a Carlson's it has worked for me and my friend also uses one with success. They are informative and will answer your emails. Here is their web site to look at your options. I think some get hung up on a perfect pattern and spend a lot of time changing things. Try one on your pattern board at different ranges and go get a turkey.

Quality ammo combined with a full or extra full will do it. I shoot a factory full choke and have taken birds at 45yrds no problem! I have shot at least 4 or 5 birds that have got up and flew away in the past....but that was because I used to shoot for the base of the neck, which is a bad idea!!! Once I switched to head shots haven't had a problem. So I think shot placement is more important than a 100 dollar choke...my

I have good results out of a Primos Jellyhead myself.

I have always liked my jellyhead. However I am going out with a different gun this year and they don't make the jellyhead anymore. I did find a M.A.D. choke for my gun for 1/2 price in the bargain cave at Cabela's yesterday so I am gonna give it a shot.

That should be an awesome combo.  Check out this thread on Old Gobbler about barrel polishing.  I did this to my 870 and 835, and it made a believer out of me!
