banning fly gear in a native catch and release area, would increase survival.  those fish are on the hook twice as long as with gear.

And ultra light gear.. what ever method it's still hard on them and stresses them especially when they're near their redds.

The only time I believe in catch and release is for barbless hook fly fishing.  it doesn't work for any kind of bait or other lure (treble hook) fishing because the mortality is to high.

Let the people keep what they catch or close the fishery.
Not trying to be rude but there is a lot of holes in this post.  A siawash hook is single point and can be used on most lures. #2 flyfishing can be harder on fish a lot of times due to fighting them to long. #3 if you catch an endangered species should you keep it? #4 barbs can be pinched on any hook, and hooks can be purchased w/o barbs.  :twocents:
