Science-Based Natural Resource Management Under Fire in Nebraska

If you know anybody in Nebraska, pass this on to them.

LEGISLATIVE ALERT: Science-Based Natural Resource Management Under Fire in Nebraska

http://www.sportsmenslink.org/the-media-room/news/legislative-alert-science-based-natural-resource-management-under-fire-in-n

Excerpt from ALERT:

"Nebraska L 671, introduced by Senator Ernie Chambers, seeks to eliminate the science-based management of mountain lions in Nebraska. Mountain lion populations have expanded considerably in recent years, requiring the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission to manage the population with a limited permit hunting opportunity."  ... "Allowing this bill to pass would set a dangerous precedent by letting the misguided, anti-hunting agendas of a few to supersede the very science-based wildlife management approach responsible for the restoration of mountain lions, deer, elk, turkeys and numerous other wildlife species."

Anti-hunting and animal-rights propaganda will dictate wildlife management if laws like this are allowed to pass.

Wildlife management should be based on sound and unbiased science.

It also looks like the bill would take away a person's right to defend themselves from a mountain lion attack (Page 3, lines 10-13).

The anti-hunters and animal-rights zealots are working hard to chip away at our rights a little at a time - species-by-species, state-by-state.
