Hey Pygmy, not sure what happened to your original thread but I was trying to add a comment and it froze up.  Anyway, I wanted to comment on your FP question and suggest the Williams WGRS receiver sight with the fire sight ghost ring.  This is the set up I use on my Knight and have been very happy with it.  Obviously the FP sight gives you more range to adjust the sight for elevation and wind but for hunting here in WA I'm not taking many shots beyond 100 yds so there is no reason for it.  Plus I don't like all that extra junk hanging from my gun to snag on tree branches, etc.

jbeaumont21, I saw that thread die last night too.  Thanks for the feedback on the peep sight.  Also appreciate the great pictures as it gives me more perspective of size, alignment etc.  WGRS may be the best option to get me off the ground - at least until Williams makes an adjustment to the FP Legend.  Thanks again!

I went a slightly different route than jb21...

I went with the Williams FP peep sight. It has 1/4" increment adjustments just like a regular scope.  So it is really easy to adjust the sight both for windage and elevation.



On the front I used a Williams ramp, fiber optic front sight and a fire sight hood.



The hood kinda sets the whole thing off... when you look through the peep and the hood it looks like you are looking through a 1X scope.

Sabotloader, I've read one of your posts from 2012 talking about the new bolts on the Knight Disc and LRH's.  You had been saying that once the rear peep is raised to it's sighted position it was likely the bolt would clear - only really making contact when at it's zeroed point.  That's worth a try for me since I would like to use the micro adjustments available with the FP legend.  Trimming the lower right corner of the FP is also an option.

I'm also interested in using a KNS dovetailed crosshair front sight in combination with the rear FP Legend.

Remember I do not actually know but that Taylor looks like it might be low enough to work.  The base of a Williams Ramp measures .0975 in height + the recommended blade is .343N in height - so you might be really close..

Just set a buddy up with this for his muzzy. Total combined height from barrel to center of sight is .524" I use this setup and it works very well. I target shoot to 300 yards with enough accuracy to make me happy. Hunting wise, well, lets not start that argument yet again. 

Williams shorty dovetail ramp, 1/8"(.12") height. Make sure to check your barrel diameter as there are different ramps for different barrel diameters. You may also need a different screw to attach to barrel. Thread pitches can vary.

Lyman 17AHB front globe sight. It's .404" from dovetail to center.

Lee Shaver globe sight inserts(the sight inserts that come with the Lyman globe leave a bit to be desired for hunting purposes). These can be stacked in any combo you like. Mine if set up to look like a duplex crosshair.

The Lyman 57 is a great sight but I am not sure they make one that will fit a Knight receiver and hole pattern.

Mike,

I'm more curious about the Lyman globe with the duplex crosshair insert.     At times I wish the fiber optic sight that I have was smaller and wondering if the Lyman globe with crosshair insert would give me a more pinpoint aim.

I will try to get a good pic of the globe with crosshairs tonight and post it up. It's nice and small. Covers about 2" at 200 yards if I remember correctly.
