« on: March 16, 2014, 08:09:38 PM »
So fess up who's got a bug out bag, we are due for a big quake sooner than later. What's in it, I'm starting to put one together now.

So far in mine I have;

Survival straw(filter)
Mre
Emt kit, quick clot, battle tourniquet, meds, etc...
Brass and lead

Really stumped on what else to put in it

Not a single one. Always have a few things in the vehicles: first aid, blankets, flashlights, etc. The next closest thing to a bug out bag is the larger trauma bag inside the house that comes on road trips and hunts.

I've got a hunting fanny pack with fire starter, trioxane tabs, water purifying tabs (soon to be replaced with a straw) various medical/first aid stuff, butt wipe, survival candy, canteen, trioxane stove, paracord, leatherman, flashlight and extra batteries and some other stuff that I can't remember right now.

I have a bag for scouting, hunting, and general trips to the woods....it usually has my pistol, extra ammo, calls, knife, led flashlight, paracords, paper, a pen bandaids and some other essentials ....ummm binos and then usually a lighter and other odds and ends depending on the time of year.  Essentially it has what "I" need to survive out there in a given situation, however I dont require a whole lot to survive.  my rig usually has water and a blanket in it all times of the year if not hats and extra clothes and occasionally ammo....lol

Snare wire, 550 cord, magnezium match. 2 bic lighters with several wraps of duct tape on them, hatchet, knife, stainless 357 mag loaded +100 rounds, iodine water purification tablets, wire saw, small foldable saw, gerber, survival blanket. water bottle with duct tape around it. pack of size 8 bait hooks and a spool of 20lb fireline. E-tool attached to the outside. A compass, protractor and a map of a particular area. stainless canteen cup.( I tuck stuff into the cup to save space) 1 medium sized bottle FULL of daily vitamins. Definition of a bug out bag is a little broad. Mine is in case poop hits the fan and I need to ghost. both of my trucks both have the essentials in them. I have purposely stashed stuff in my 3 main bug out locations or near them so I can re-supply or get more specialized equipment when I need it. this includes hunting equipment, bows, rifles a fishing pole.....luxury items like Shiite tickets
