I found a small S clip at rei today for 1.50 that I'm going to use to hold my bladder. I can take a pic if you'd like.
Also did 7 miles with around 40-45lbs and it felt great. Didn't even know the pack was there

That is an excellent idea, thank you for sharing. I will check at Sportsman's or possibly REI. I did 8 miles Sunday including some thick nasty stuff. Only saw one bear at about 1000 yards, but I got to get out the gear and take it through the paces. Well it was amazing, no shoulder fatigue and the pack fit where I wanted to go. I like the way it rides and the air flow was great, saw 90 degrees on the thermometer.

Anyone get a 5500 yet? I was originally told mid July now I'm starting to think I'll be using something else for the elk opener.

When did you place your order? If it was before July 22, you should have received it.
Straight from the website. Also if you did the 25% down and didn't call in to pay they might have one waiting. Just a thought because I know they ran that promo. Email them if you have questions. These guys have been awesome and get back to you within 24 hours.
Just yesterday we completely sold out of all remaining packs that we have slated to be built in the July production run. This is on all colors and both the 3500 and 5500 bag sizes. Any orders placed as of 7/22/14 we will be able to fill. The response to our packs has been quite overwhelming; its been awesome for Lenny and I to see something that we worked extremely hard on to be received so well. We promise we are doing our best to keep up with orders.
Shipping time:
Any orders as of 7/22/14 we will be able to fill. We are currently shipping out 5500 packs every day; sometime between today and Aug 8th we should have all backorders (3500 and 5500) shipped out.
Waiting list:
If you missed out on getting an order you can place an order online by entering your phone number and email on the pack builder page; here. If we have any extra packs it will be a first come first served basis that we will fill orders. Outside of that we anticipate the next round of pack not to ship until October.
Thanks to everyone for their support and patience,
Steve and Lenny

I would shoot them an email. You should have gotten yours a couple weeks ago I would have thought anyways. Did you get any follow up emails after your order. I got some notifications and tracking number for my ship date. I would shoot them your confirmation number that way they can reference it. I think they will be able to clear things up pretty quickly.

Called on the 4th when I got the email about paying the other 75% and was told shipping soon. Sent an email a couple days ago and haven't heard back yet. I'm sure they are busy, but I honestly feel like I haven't been kept in the loop. The last email I got before the aug 4th one said I'd have a pack in the middle of july than I got the one on the 4th saying all orders should of shipped by the 8th. So far I'm less than impressed, but holding out hope with all the positive feedback I've been reading about the pack.

I think they have been having issues with the sew shopping meeting their timeline, it's worth the wait and I'm hoping to get some blood on my this weekend.

A couple of things I would change:
1. If you add any contents to the long side pockets then the small side pockets where i like to keep my nalgene are way too tight and almost not useable. If you look at a granite gear pack they use a super stretchy fabric for that outer small side pocket so even if the bag is full you can still add a nalgene to the side pocket.
2. The upper bag appears to not have the x-pac fabric but it does have sealed zippers. I don't see a point of sealed zippers if the pouch isn't waterproof. also, this is where i usually like to carry the important stuff like range finder, wallet, snacks, stuff i don't want wet...
The free belt pouch is AWESOME though, they succeeded in allowing open/close with 1 hand and its a perfect size. I haven't carried a heavy load with it yet, just scouting.

My box is sitting in the entry way! Going to wait until everyone goes to sleep so I can act like a little kid on Christmas when I open it
I did have issues getting a hold of them after the email asking for the 75%. Seemed the only time I was able to reach Steve he was in his truck headed somewhere. Call back at the requested time and no answer. But I expect this is the time of year their retail store is the busiest. I understand not being able to reach the phone as it happens here too. Would be nice to at least listen to an answering machine, but it is what it is. And once I finally do get someone on the phone they are the nicest and most helpful folks around.
I'm not too worried if the Nalgene bottle pouch doesn't perform as advertised. I hunt with my pack on which means water bottles are forbidden anywhere near me. Sloshing echo chambers get the boot faster than whining hunting partners
Even if I'm just training or working out with the pack on I can't stand the noise of a water bottle. They could leave that feature off completely and it wouldn't bother me at all!
I don't expect it to be the absolute answer I've been waiting the last 30 years for. But I think it's going to be as close as I've come. We'll see just how close around midnight!
