Rufus Woods
« on: April 15, 2014, 09:41:18 AM »
Anybody heading over to but the beat down on this lake this weekend.
We went a couple weekends ago and did real well, but the weather turned south on Us and pushed the boat back up the river to beat a Hail storm that was crazy.
Undecided where to camp.
Any suggestions.
Sounds like they are opening the water below the Grand and the hiway 155 bridge? Any take on this?
Well I was hoping to maybe met up with a few of you over there. Keep me posted.

One of the reasons we like Rufus is the scenery. With 50 some miles of beautiful water available,I sure wouldn't waste my time in the couple hundred yds between the bridge and dam.

Rick,
You got that right it is real pretty.
We do pretty good going out of Seatons grove boat launch and going up river. I think I will just stick to our standard gig. Theres fish all over that body of water.

Fishing wasnt a banner time but Rufus still produced a few nice fish. Nothing worthy of bragging about. :dunno:
Now Rosevelt produced some really nices Kokanees (Silvers as the locals call them)
Again with the draw down of the water the fishing was pretty tough, but the fish were still there.

Will most likely be there this weekend, although will be bank fishing. Any advice for us losers without a boat?  :)

Cast far!  :chuckle: Actually a guy I work with has a boat but doesn't bring it because he does better from the bank.

I will say this!
The fishing in Rosevelt was off the hook 2.5-3.0 lb rainbows and silvers/ Kokes. Gain access to the big pool just above the dam along the west edge of the dam. Just above the float line. Marshmellows and worms fished off the bottom.
The fishing at Rufus has slowed down alot. But still caught some nice trips. Nothing really big all around 2-3 lbs
