the other he said looked like a 5x5 in velvet.

Velvet that big already  :yike:  :dunno: I saw/heard a helicopter buzzing around above upper Greenwater(west fork white river) yesterday afternoon where I live, kept around the area for 20+ minutes... figured they could be counting elk? Heard anything about that?
No I haven't but he was up a the seed orchard of the FS 73 Rd. when he saw the bulls.

:yeah: there are probably a few still running with hard antlers

He could have seen a cactus bull or something but I doubt he saw a 5x5 in velvet already.

I saw many bulls during my spring bear hunt last year. I have pictures of a bull with large antlers in velvet at the beginning of the season when others had only nubs. I believe him

I wonder if the antlers were just really white which made him think the antlers were in velvet.

OR  he was drinking Black Velvet and kind of got confused!!!   :chuckle:

I seen a bull up turkey hunting on the opener that had about 18" of growth already, he was running with 3 others that had little more than nubs. This one had about foot long eye guards already. So I would say a 5x5 could be possible. going to be a hell of a bull
