Good luck guys ..be safe ...I guess I will just go to bed for a couple weeks hearing gobblers going off on the roost
not sure when I will have a chance to go ...but I kept one tradition going and that was buying more calls I really do not need
Can not wait to hear some stories !!

Heading out soon. I found a big tom but there was no gobbling last night to put him to bed.
One did gobble once a long way off. Going to sit in the general area I've seen him. The hens are getting bread off and I'm seeing less and less as the days go by. I was going to use my smoke pole but I had one hang fire patterning it, so I'm going to use my new 12 ga. I got last year for my birthday. Don't want to miss this guy, he's one of the bigger ones I've gone after. Just hope he's the first long beard to come in.
Good luck everyone.

It was a very quite morning. No gobbles at all. The only ones I did hear was shok gobbles when some shots went off. I did call in 5 jakes, they came in quite and walked by at 10ft.

I was right in them, I watched them fly down. 4 jakes walked by, but the hens took the big guy the other way.
They are so henned up right now it not funny. I watched about 10 Jakes and one long beard out in a field, no hens, all in full strut and wouldn't come to a call, that big guy must have had his ass handed to him a few times this spring.
O BTW, Tuesday at 5:20pm I had a hen walk past my blind and lay down in front of my full strut decoy to get bread. Never had that happen before. She stayed that way a few min.s got up and looked at him and walked off.
