my son's first blackie

So this was my step son's third year of deer hunting. He definately has an interest in hunting but is now only 12 so he gets burnt out pretty easy. He hadn't killed one yet, so this year it was my goal to get the kid somthing, anything, he needed, and wanted to kill somthing. Opening day we saw three legal buck. One bruiser that somehow eluded us. A high school friend shot it the next day, I was gonna let him rest that day, wasn't sure if we had spooked him on the opener. oops. twenty inch three by three. damn it. Oh well. Anyway a couple days later we spotted this bruiser from the road. Clay looked at him and I said, "he's legal". That's all it took. Off we went with light fading. One shot at 75 yards with the 243, game over. I have never been a more proud father, or have ever enjoyed a hunt more. To say he was happy would be an understatement. Not huge, but definately big enough for a 12 year old. He's hooked for life.

I relayed all of your guys's comments to him but he is a little agravated with you, notice the second point on the deer's right antler. he is a 2 by 1
, not a spike
. thank for the comments everyone they are greatly appreciated by us both.
