Elk 101dvd's?
« on: March 11, 2014, 12:06:11 PM »
Just curious if any of you have watched the Elk 101 "elk hunting university" dvd's ? Ive hunted elk for awhile, with ZERO success ( archery west side) and was thinking about ordering these to see if they might teach me a thing or two maybe I've been doing wrong. Just curious what you guys who have seen them think? Thanks for any feedback!

I got the video a while back and to me it was pretty informative. I think for someone who hasnt elk hunted much it would be great and it is always good to see other hunters styles and ideas. I watched it once and threw it on the shelf with all the others. Definitely an instructional video not a Primos hunting video. Just my opinion.

Corey does a great job in this series providing you with information to start with the basics on what to look for, tactics, and calling techniques.  Worth the watch.

Thanks for the intel. Ordered it last night.. I think I watched to many of the primo's videos. They make it look so easy! Make a squeaky noise and the bulls should just come running in right?

does it give you good ideas on what kind of areas that you would want to scout for elk in? also any good hunting and calling action?

I'd say good info on areas to look at but not a lot of hunting footage if I remember correctly.

The dvd's are loaded with information.  The first CD is about off season scouting, getting in shape etc.. the other cd talks about thermals and dome calling sequences etc.. very informational.

The elk 101 DVD is a very good video for new and experienced hunters a lot of stuff guys wouldn't think about he covers. But I agree with Idjbuff the best hunting videos out are the born and raise DVDs those dudes hunt all backcountry and go all in.
