Bashful bear

I don't think this guy likes his picture being taken. This is the last photo that my cam took as he ripped it right off of the tree box and all.

Did he destroy the camera? I heard they are attracted to the smell of the batteries.

I am hoping that the camera will still work. I hiked back in with stronger anchors to re hang last evening. I will check it soon. This is the second camera that this has happened to recently. The last one is shot. I have never heard of the battery thing before.

I've had the same thing happen and believe its the batteries also. Last year I had a camera hung in a remote are up in a tree 15 ft point down at a wallow, I got pictures of the bear molesting the camera for 2 days before he finally ripped it off the tree and dropped it into the wallow. More than anything else, I have a ton of pictures of bears looking or sniffing my cameras. Doesn't matter what I do to cover my sent, using rubber gloves, etc... so it has to be something about the camera making the smell and that would be the batteries.
