There are some pretty decent bows tht are affordable coming from custom bowyers... And having been a custom bowyer, I have a hard time saying my next thing...

Trad tech makes several affordable risers that you can buy affordable limbs for... Being a beginner, you could buy a set that draw 40# and learn how to shoot a traditional bow. Then, if you were ready or wanted to you could sell them and buy another set that pull 50-55... If you love it, you can upgrade to the bf extremes I mentioned... Anyhow, go to trad tech archery and check them out. Three rivers sells some cool similar bows too.

If you want to go "primitive" you can pick up a decent longbow for probs $200... They are fun too!

Pm if you want more specifics...
