help with eastside hunting public lands
« on: May 12, 2014, 06:58:12 AM »
Good morning,

Looking for info on eastside bow hunting. I have been Google earthing areas SE of Oroville in the National Forest. I have only hunted the westside of the state for Blacktail. They taste good. With the hunting ground  now requiring trespass fee's and the lack of non populated public lands, I thought heading east sounds good. But usually the grass is never really greener, but if it is, I ask what kind of fertilizer are they using?
Any info about this area would be appreciated. I typically ride mnt bike with over night gear and stay a few days.
Thank you for the input!

Nathan

Good morning and welcome to HW.  Plenty of deer and areas to hunt staying north of the reservation and on either side of the Okanogan, Colville national Forest line.....Colville National Forest is 1.1 million acres, and offers tons of opportunity.

Good luck

Sounds like you didn't put in for Special Permits in the 245 to 251 units.
Swakane (north of Wenatchee) is open for over the counter tags and is good if we get an early snow.  The most fun and great bet is hunting the high country in early September
