One of my friends hunted 9 days hard and killed a big 3X4. It is a real nice buck nearly 30" wide.... I will see if I can get permission to post a picture as I have a good one.

I was over there last year and my buddy had the tag and we saw one the first morning I was there, he had been there for three days and he passed on it since he had the following full week to hunt.  Finally the last day ended up killing the buck, nice 27" 4x4.  Sounds like numbers are down.

I don't think the population has ever been real big, for all the cover and feed out there.  Not sure why since they don't suffer the winter kill.  They are out there, tracks are there, its just a matter of finding them.

I wonder how many the farmers knock off.  That would be kind of frustrating having them hammering your crops all the time

hey guys, my buddy drew a Desert B doe tag. we went out today and he got one.

we were just going out for a quick morning hunt. we parked alond rd c se and started our walk heading north east. we jumped a small doe right off the bat but she pulled a dissapering act on us. so we kept on our way. we walked another 1/2 mile and got up another 7 does. again with the dissapering act. so we walk another hour or so and my buddy said it was about time to go so he could get home in time and not 20 seconds after he said that a doe stood up an ran about 60 yds and turned almost brod side to us and he plugged her with his 270.

its not a huge deer but it was his first deer he has gotten in 16 years so i was just happy to be there with him to share in his joy.

the day befor when we hunted we hadnt seen a single doe but we did see 3 really nice bucks.
