20 Acre 3x?
« on: November 28, 2008, 10:39:18 AM »
Wife's nephew got really nice buck on the late hunt.out behind my Daughters house in Ferndale. This buck had the right side busted off leaving only about 6" of bone. Gamey that checked the deer said it was the second biggest deer he had checked this year in Whatcom Co. Aged him at 5 1/2 Had split ear. This buck came out of about 10 acre patch of trees out behind the house. Can see I-5 from where he was. Neighbor got honked and called Sheriff,WSP,WDFW.  All was legal and Sheriff  told the woman if she called again on something like that he would fine her$250 for harassment. He must hunt. Sorry no pictures as of now but when they can scan some I will try to post.
Just shows the is some darned big deer in very small woods. Oh Gamey said he would sure like to see the deer that kicked this ones butt!!!!

Ah yes! Vindication! Congrats on the nice buck. I am taking your word for it without pictures.

Being a Land Surveyor and constantly being outside in the suburban and rural areas I can vouch for the fact that there are some huge bucks in the suburbs. I saw some of my biggest bucks this year in late September on South Hill of Puyallup.

I have three real nice bucks in my back yard.   It would not be hunting it would be shooting.   I am more for the sport of it.  When they do die they get killed on the road...

Ya...when I would hunt the pheasant release site near Ferndale I'd jump deer in the thick nasties.  I often wondered what a tree stand and some patience would have produced.

Looking forward to photos.
