Carp Spearfishing

So who here on the forum has tried it? I've been shooting carp/doing tournaments for a couple years now, (before a pretty bad archery accident-check the bowfishing forum for pics/what happened) and just ordered a speargun and the gear for spearfishing after watching some videos. 

I'd like to know who has had success freediving for carp in places like Moses Lake and the Potholes reservoir or anywhere on the east side for that matter.
