Labor day charter?
« on: June 02, 2014, 10:10:52 AM »
I am planning on getting a salmon charter sometime over Labor Day weekend. Was wondering if I should make it a combo (bottom fish and salmon) or just go for the kings? Really want to hook into a king, but I love rock bass and would love to catch a ling. Any suggestions on charters would also be appreciated.

Where in the state are you looking to fish? If its kings your after at that time of year I would look in to a Buoy 10 guide. Best chance at getting a big one and you'll likely get a chance at many fish. Tons of guides to choose from down there too. No chance for bottom fish/lingcod though.
Fish hard, hunt harder!

I have no preference. It will be a new experience so I will go where the best chance of getting something is.

Out of Wesport, check out The Starfire (Robert Mirante captain) The Sea Angel (Brian Mirante captain) or the Pescatore (Paul Mirante captain). The Mirante's are family friends of mine, I have fished with Brian, however I know Robert on the Starfire have been slaying the rockfish and lingod so far this year...

:yeah:
Buoy 10 is expected to be even better than last year and last August is was insane!  By Labor Day there will be big kings and plenty of silvers at Buoy 10.

Looks like the Westport king run could be closed by middle of August. Made a reservation with Columbia River Fishing Adventures. Sound like it should be a good time of year.
Thanks and I will make sure to post my outcome. Gonna be a long wait.... :(

What, are they going to jump in the boat this year?
