Idaho Pioneer Archery Elk Help?

I've planned for years  to do a wilderness backpack archery hunt in the Idaho wilderness, and this year is the year.

I'm going to hunt unit Pioneer in Idaho with archery tackle this September.   I'm hiking miles of vertical terrain everyday to prepare.

I've been poring over maps, and my first scouting expedition is gonna be next week.  I would appreciate any tips/advice on where to find a decent bull in these units.

If somebody on here has some experience with these areas and is willing to be a bit of a resource for me regarding intel on the area, I would be glad to send you a care package of hunting gear and/or share some meat with you.

Don't try hunting with the wind in your favor, just go after the bull and hope for luck of the draw with the wind. Hunted 36a a couple of years and became friends with a hunting party that had been hunting there for years and that was there advice, it was good advice. The wind was the most unpredictable and random of anywhere I have hunted. Had great hunts, we killed a couple of bulls and will go back, down the road.

I appreciate the PM's, guys!  Based on everything that I've learned through you guys and my own research, I'm going to hunt a different zone that hopefully hasn't been so devastated by wolves and that isn't so crowded.  Thanks for the help!  There are so many good hunting zones in Idaho!  I wish Washington managed their elk so well.
