east okanagon 2nd deer tag.
« on: June 11, 2014, 09:45:25 PM »
I drew my first ever rifle tag for a 2nd deer tag.  I've never shot a deer with a gun so I'll probably just use my bow still.   I have a friend with property in the unit so I'll start my hunt there first.

Don't be surprised to hear night time shots in that area. Plenty of poaching going on in there.

Not to many shots in September, lots more in August. I drew that tag three years ago took me 14 minutes to fill my tag from the porch (actually the wood pile) of the cabin and I looked over 5 deer before shooting the one I chose. Turns out it was the wrong choice as she was full of #6 pellets. We laughed as we skinned her figuring she was in someone's garden a lot but almost all the meat had shot in some part of the meal  :yike:. I will certainly be more selective this year my hunting partner and I both drew so we may stretch it out for two weekends but we will see. The first big whitetail doe is mine, but a good shot at a mule deer may change my mind.

Good luck to all the others that drew :hunter:

I drew the North Okanogan 2nd deer and my Son drew the East youth tag. A lot of easy meat in the freezer this year. I'm going to try filling my tag from the hot tub this year..... :lol4:

I would take the challenge if we had a hot tub over there  :chuckle: :chuckle:
Sounds like  few happy hunters "should" have a few decent chances to fill freezers if all foes well. There are no sure things in WA hunting but I like to chances for sure .
