Greys River/Eden Valley, Wahkiakum County Elk
« on: June 11, 2014, 10:51:23 PM »
Decided to buy a westside elk tag for the first time in many years.  Son and I drew antlerless permits for the 5056 area in GMU 506.  Good for lands on or within 1 1/2 miles of ag lands.  Couple questions for those on here that might know......

1.  What timber company has land there...Weyerhauser, Hancock, Rayonier?  Can seem to find anything on their websites regarding access, although Wahkiakum county maps show a pretty good amount of private timber lands.

2.  Looks like some DNR lands just north of Greys River within distance above from ag lands in the valley.  Anyone familiar with those DNR areas?

Anything else that might pertain is appreciated.

Thanks

I put my son in for one of the youth hunts in that unit, didn't draw. From what I could find, is that big chunk of timber ground on south of hwy 4, is all broken up into a ton of small blocks owned by many different people. Some Hancock,rationed,Longview/Wh, some hawian timber company and some private individuals.

Wacenturian, Big TULE from I fish. I see the elk there all the time. And I know a few gates you can hunt down there. A few of the farmers will let you hunt also.
