Deal: Primos Truth Cam35 refurbished @ Natchez SS for $50
« on: June 23, 2014, 12:32:57 AM »
Pretty happy with mine! Just a little big that's the only drawback.

Any comments on refurbished cams from Primos?

Just got a couple of the refurbished ultra 35's from naches, haven't tried them yet tho. I've had a few refurbished Bushnell trophy cams from there and they've worked great.

I've heard it said that often refurbished can be better than new due to the hog whe quality control. Not sure if that applies to trail cams though.

Is there any kind of warranty on these? I have found it to be a pain to get warranty issues resolved.

I'd probably spend the extra $25 to get the new one.

I bought a couple a few years ago and they came with a 90 day warranty. I have never had a problem with the 4 that I bought refurbished from Nachez.

I've had nothing but problems with the Ultra 35's; however if you register the warranty customer service is good, and you will get new ones pretty quickly usually no questions asked.  I have several of the primos upper level cams and have yet to have any problems with those.

I have two out for the second year. Not bad for $50 er. They seem to work best in an open area, but they tend to take infrared pics in the daytime quite often. They do take really good color pics when they work right. At the end of the day I can tell what is coming in and that's the most important thing to me.

Natchez always has the refurbished cams at that price. I only recommend against them because for $25 more you can get a new one with a 1 year warranty.

I know of one, it was not the 35 but the 60, very similar camera. It lasted about a month in the woods, then quit, and now will not power up. Just has to be thrown in the garbage.

Better yet, would be to buy from a local store, such as Cabelas or a Walmart, that way if it quits working you can return it to the store for a refund or a replacement. Both stores offer extended warranties on electronics fairly cheap and that might be the way to go.

I say all this because I get tired of going to the post office to mail cameras back.

No warranty on the refurbs? Even with Primos' highly touted customer service?

+1 to the other comment about good daytime photos. Nightime photos leave some to be desired.

I believe the refurbs have a 90 day warranty.
