what's in Tanwax?
« on: July 06, 2014, 07:29:22 PM »
So we braved the water skiers today at Tanwax...
On the way back to the boat launch we were drifting near the lilly pads. Whatever it was, it was about two feet long, moving under water maybe three or four feet, it looked just like a branch but it was definitely moving in a desired direction - heading for the weeds by the lilly pads.
Does Tanwax have tiger muskies in it? This thing really looked to me like a cross between a large branch and a perch.

We've had property on Tanwax since '68. No Tiger Muskies that I've ever heard about. There are some pretty big bass in Tanwax though.

Otter, we saw an otter two years ago in Tanwax.

:yeah: lol was gonna type that earlier when I read this thread then forgot. Quite a few of the lakes around that area have otters, and they know tasty snacks come in the form of fish stringers sitting off the side of boats/docs  :chuckle:

Too long for a cat.... otter... interesting thought, didn't see it surface.... but???... too skinny for a carp that long.
What color are the otters out there?

The one we watched looked totally dark on top, long and thin, if I had not seen it on top first, I would have thought it was an eel or something similar when it swam by us underwater.

Wasn't dark, more greenish yellow but, that may have just been the light refraction.
Must have been one though.
I will have to watch for them from now on.
Thanks.
