Smoky rendezvous.
« on: July 17, 2014, 08:35:22 AM »
We will have two wildfires going in the area of Cashmere for this weekend, So be prepared for the poor air quality and ash falling on everything. The sun is red right now and will be until it clears the smoke cloud. I am in Moses Lake and under the smoke.

Check the highways before you head to Cashmere as Hiway 2 was closed 7/16/14 because of the fire.

Hope to see you there.

How is 97?  I think that is the one I usually take between I90 and US 2?

I just talked with Bruce.  He is already over there.  he said that there is "NO SMOKE" across I-90 from Western Washington and "No Smoke" up over 97 either until you get about a mile from HWY 2.  Then you turn east on HWY 2 to Cashmere and there is very little smoke in Cashmere.

He said you can smell smoke but it is mostly clear.  He also said the weather is not  hot and it seems like it is cooling off.  Its a go everybody.  :IBCOOL:

Just watch for road conditions and closures.  Drive safe and we'll see you over there this weekend.
JC  :hello:

Other than the smoke the weather is supposed to be in the mid 80's to lower 90's. After the last week of 100 plus days this is a nice change. Bruce is there, Ted should be there by now I'll be there for a short while tomorrow, then be back Sat bout noon.

Hope to see every one there.

Thanks for the report. WA  DOT says 97 is closed, I hope that is an old report.  I'll check there and here before I leave home tomorrow morning.

It is not an old report.  Fire is blowing up and racing down the hill.

That part of 97 is north of Chelan, but check dot before you leave in the morning.
