sight pins for the spott hogg question?
« on: July 09, 2014, 09:58:25 PM »
Current pin size.019. Can the site pins be changed to .010? What is the advantage? Im unsure which pins to make smaller? I been noticing when shooting 3ds that longer distances I'm covering the target vs seeing the spot where I'm aiming with more of the animal in the background..7pins can get crowded in a hurry thinking smaller pins would help.

I'm considering the ascent with the wheel of death. (Smaller pins, cover for brightness, ring color, etc) why would you want a 4" or 6" dovetail vs stock? Seems like sight is a bit heavier than my current sight. Thoughts on the ascent?

Yes you can change to the .10 pins. Like you said, your pins won't cover as much of your target out further. You could always leave your top few and pit .10's on your bottom pins. Also, the further away from your bow tour sight is, the more accurate you will be. Yes, you will have to sacrifice more weight.

Thanks for the info.  I'll look into that but may have to wait till after hunting. Not inclined to mess with my setup to much but I would like to get the pins changed out. After season I may try the ascent.
