I plan on waiting until it gets better, 6 bucks a pack for herring and 405 a gallon for gas makes for a 100 dollar day
I need to go practice 60 and 70 yds at KBH anyway

Guys at work who took yesterday off were pretty disappointed with the catching. I understand the fishing was good the weather was great and the beverages cold but the catching was poor.

I was out yesterday for the Hansville tourney. Not many boats with bent rods that I saw. We netted one native, released and had no other bites. We only heard a few boats hook up compared to the numbers we saw out there - we fished mostly around point no point.

Heading out again in the am... Been really slow. Only four fish hit the deck out of five of my buddies boats that were fishing the last two days...
Hopefully, we'll hit at least one tomorrow.

Hit mid channel bank Wednesday and Thursday. Hooked and bonked an 8# on Wednesday and nothing on Thursday. We were definitely in the top 5% with that one 8# fish. Graph showed absolutely no bait and the rest of the 200 boats showed not many salmon there.
I'm not sure what the deal was, but the salmon and baitfish didn't get the memo about the red hot opener. The fog was pretty thick on Wednesday, a few guys played bumper boats with the ferries. I almost got pegged by a guy running N-S right in the middle of the channel at full bore while we were crossing. No lights, no lookout, just full throttle.

It’s shaping up to be the worst season since they reopened this fishery. So far I’ve had 2 hits and released 2 native kings. I hope they extend the season because there is no way the quota is going to be reached unless something dramatic happens soon.

Ended up hitting 1 keeper blackmouth yesterday morning in A10 for the first time out this year. Caught a couple small shakers and a small resi coho. Was going to go out this morning but wasn't feeling up to it. It'll be another week or two before those fish move in that aren't resident it looks like from the creel reports. I only saw two small shakers get caught. Sekiu sounds like a safe bet though from reports I've seen. Sad thing is they'll probably close A9/A10 before the bulk of the run comes through.
