Heading out for Bear Opener with ol' SG
« on: July 31, 2014, 10:07:27 AM »
Gonna see if me and the lady can get our hands on a bear this weekend  :dunno:
Managed to pick up a nice predator call off bearmanrick last weekend at the HW bbq, Always good to see him...
Anyone who's chased bear have any last minute advice or techniques?

Ive never managed to stick anything yet and hopefully my first bloody arrow will be from teddy.
 :hello:
One touch of nature makes the whole world kin.

I do. Don't chase these.....

They chase back.

Good luck. Play the wind and look for food and shade.

As a novice bear hunter...I might leave the calls at home since you're without any firearms.  Those situations can get hairy
Kindly do not attempt to cloud the issue with too many facts.

Find food smossy and sit and wait.  Bears are loud while eating in Clearcuts a lot of times I hear them before I see them.

If you can, give it a few moments to make sure a sow is without cubs or vice versa. Good Luck
Just tend your own and live.

Work the hucks early in the AM from the bottom of the hill and late in the PM from the top. Glass is your friend.

Cover SG in rabbit scent and blow the hell outta that call if all else fails. Tell her to flip that pony tail once in a while for effect.

Smossy, you're taking the Saturday shift, bro because of the light truffle shipment to my guy. Smossy girl, you and I are doing the bear thing.  :yike:
