Fishing near dales dam to john day dam???

Hey guys I'm going to be camping this coming Friday down to the dalles and was wondering what kind of fishing is around that area? I'm open to any type of fishing to try out down there. How's the salmon fishing? In other words I have to be schooled on the type of fishing down there. Any info is greatly appreciated! :tup:
