What a good bait for the kings?
Brad's Super Bait Cut Plugs have worked well for a lot of people.  "Hot Tamale" is the color of choice, but there's a lot of good choices.  Add some tuna scent, or take a can of tuna in oil and shove it in there.

I was there on Wednesday and caught and released one native.  I saw about three hatchery fish caught out of 15 or so kings.  Water melon cut plug was the color that day.  Use some tuna in oil and follow the crowd.  Good luck
PS The best part was watching two tribal members set gill nets along the bank at 1AM in the morning and pull them at 3AM full of fish.  I don't think they released any native kings. :dunno:

This morning was good...got 3 kids their first salmon.  Only 4 sockeye made it into the boat. We got one king to the boat, native. What a fight! Sure took a lot of line very quickly, thumb on spool was not smart...got kinda warm! . I was very excited to do battle with such a dandy fish.

Was planning on making the 300 mile drive this weekend but "life" got in the way. I figured if I made the trip it would rain tomorrow night and kill the fishing (like it did last year  :bash:) so I will stay home this weekend so the rest of you can catch a bunch and enjoy great fishing

Anyone fishing this week? I hope to go up Thursday morning. We will probably take my friends boat this time. We had fun on Sunday, lost a few sockeye at the boat. Came home with 5 Sockeye and one hatchery king. I am really enjoying this fishing season in the new boat!
