Unincorporated Snohomish County Coyotes
« on: August 01, 2014, 06:15:26 PM »
My in laws have a problem with coyotes becoming more brazen and more aggressive in their yard.  They live on 2 acres just north of Bothell in the no shooting zone.  Normally, I would not care that much because the coyotes just threaten their cats, however, my kids go there during the day for childcare and love to play outside, they are young kids and the coyotes are becoming more brazen about coming close to people.  I am afraid they might go after one of my kids while hes playing outside with adult supervision.

So my question is... would I be legal to shoot these coyotes with a firearm even though its a no shooting area.  I also have a bow, and a shotgun.  Would any of these be legal to kill these coyotes with if the opportunity presented itself?

I would think a bow or a high powered pellet gun would be legal.

Bow for sure.check the local rcw and make sure first most of the no shooting is for target.some areas that are posted no shooting by ordinance also say except permitted by wdfw.but if I thought they were to close and to orotect my kids I'd shoot them.

Air guns are not legal to kill game in wa state...

I would call them in with a cat call and use some kind of quiet method to dispose of them.
In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.
