Hancock/Snoqualmie. looking for partner
« on: August 05, 2014, 01:18:48 PM »
I purchased the driving pass for 2014. I don't have much experience in the area or dear hunting really, but I have time and gear and this should be a good year. I have been elk hunting around Ellensburg several times with no luck. Just wondering if there is anyone here that might want to show me the ropes and would like a hunting buddy in the Hancock forest. I'm 42, 2 kids, married, self employed. Have all my own gear and a truck. I live around the Clearview/snohomish area. Let me know if you have any interest.

I'll cook if you'll drive. Maybe someone else will come along and tell tall tales.

I purchased it this year too along with another 2 friends and live near Ballard - working in DT Seattle. Sign me up for half days during the week with the occasional full day with some planning ahead.

PM me if you want to meet up.  I was planning to be out there this morning but work got in the way.

Guys, I also bought a Hancock pass. Been out 3 times in last 10 days. Saw nothing one day, then deer each following. Spooked a group of deer in a clearing which I may mark as my opening day hunting spot.

I'm down to hunt with buddies. Hit me up any time. I

I was planning to go out last weekend but ended up staying in the office and working.

I have a little intel but if you're hitting the clear cuts and looking for deer or bear it's really what you need to do.  Get out of your car and walk whenever you can instead of hoping to drive up to a clearing, get out of your car for a few feet and take a shot.

I'm not sure I'll be fishing this weekend so if a Hunt WA member is interested in going out I could probably get out there for a day.

Not sure if the rules allow it anyhow, but I'm not sure I'll be picking up a tag this year, but if somebody needs help packing an animal etc... it would be a good excuse to go check the area out. Let me know via PM or email ericberto@gmail.com

They don't.

Everyone on Hancock must be in possession of their registration, permit and ID.

I live in Seattle as well (Greenwood).  Been hunting a few years.  Fished my whole life.  I'm 31.  From this area.

Ever want to meet up for beers and talk hunting, lemme know.  I'm down.

I'll be on the farm this year as well for deer and elk.

Did anybody end up harvesting anything this year in there? I saw a ton of animals, and no branch antlered bucks. Pretty frustrating. I saw 59 deer over 6 days of Modern Firearm, no bucks. A couple bears, one little guy, and one I couldn't get a shot on, then 3 bob cats as well. Nice area.

Really just curious how others did?

Not sure, but I'm gonna get the motorless pass. Do these passes go for sale online or just in person
