Coyote hunting in Western Wa

Hey all, new to the forum looking for answers...

Dad and I want to take up coyote hunting, but we're not really sure where to go about doing so.  Live in Puyallup and wanted to keep the drive to go hunting not much more than an hour long. 

Where along I-5 can a person go hunt coyotes?  Has anybody tried the Scatter Creek Wildlife Area managed my WDFW?  I know they do the pheasant release program there, but how do they handle other people invading the bird-hunting areas?

Open minded to all the advise I can get.

Scatter Creek is fairly small area and is sounded on three sides by homes so a rifle is pretty much out of the question.  Better places would be Capital Forest, and public ands east of you out into the mountians, Plenty of land west of Shelton in the national forest.  Pick up a copy of the Wash Atlas and Gazzateer (sp?)

Sounds good, guys.  We plan to go out this weekend and I think we might get out into either some of the back corners of the Scatter Creek area or we might go to Capital Forrest. 
This will be our first outing so I'm not sure exactly where in these areas we'll end up, but it's an adventure none the less.

I picked up a copy of the "Washington Atlas & Gazetteer", but I'm not to use it to find hunting areas.   Using the example of coyote hunting east of Puyallup, the hunting area index on pg 15 lists just one area in the area east of Puyallup which is on page 64.

Is this the only information provided by the Gazetteer?  Thanks

Capitol forest is probably a good bet.  I live right next to it and heard 3 packs two nights ago singing to the train ...... for whatever reason they go nuts whenever the train blows whistle at night.

Yea we live on the north side of Capital Forest and hear them almost nightly

Having never been to Capital Forrest, can anybody give some pgs coords for areas that possibly hold coyotes?  Not trying to piss on other's turf, we just don't really know where to start-literally.  Is there more than one parking lot?  How about access points?

There are quite a few entrances to CF. I've never coyote hunted up there before, so I can't really help you out, but I will be up there deer hunting this weekend...hopefully in the snow.

The dogs are there, but they are hard to hunt. Smart dogs, thick brush, tons of people.  As for access, there are about three enterances on the I5 side, at least three on the HWY 12 side and three on the HWY 8 side.
