Skok
« on: August 17, 2014, 07:30:47 PM »
I went to the Skok for the very first time.  WOW, that was a real eye opener.  So there was only one place that we could actually fish with our eggs and it was at a hole called the guard rail.  It is a bobber and egg only.  There was a person there already who was not going deep enough so he was not doing very well and seemed like he did not want another person sharing the hole with him.

We went to all the other places and there were fisher-people with what my son coined the phrase the Skok Stroke.   8 - 10 feet of leader...  3/4 oz or 1 oz of weight and let it hit the bottom wait 3 - 5 seconds and do the Skok Stroke.

We watched one hole for about an hour and there was only 1 fish that was hooked legally.

We went to the Cedar hole and there was tons of folks there and elbow to elbow.

We went to the meat hole and there were 30 people elbow to elbow.

We fished one place that was a hoot to be there.  Three people went in neck deep to net a fish.  We say 4 fish that were legally hooked.  It was nuts and it was NOT fishing it was snagging.  I did come back with about 3 lbs of eggs that people did not want.  I was all over those...

We also met some nice folks.  There was one person who was told to leave because he was getting upset with the chaos.  He left the hole...
