new pack near Ione
« on: July 22, 2014, 08:41:53 PM »
Becker, Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife wolf biologist Trent Roussin and USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service wildlife biologist Wade Jones were recently tracking an as yet unnamed pack of wolves on national forest land south of Sullivan Lake near Ione, Wash.

An adult male wolf was caught in one of the traps they set the next day, which is unusual, Roussin said.

“We had these guys fairly well pinned down — we knew they were in there,” Roussin said. “There were fresh tracks going up and down the road.”

The department found out about the new pack through public reports last summer and fall, Becker said. The department is contacting the person who first reported them to see if he wants to name the pack.

Based on tracking and camera surveys, Becker estimates the pack consists of at least eight wolves — four adults and four pups.

I wonder why the WDFW never made a big deal of the wolf track pictures I gave them 5 years ago around Republic and still do nothing with all the proof they are over here in Ferry County ?
I couldn't care less about what anybody says..............

“If you actively manage only that 20-30 percent that causes problems, there’s still going to be a lot of wolves left on the landscape,” he said. “The ones that don’t cause the problems are the ones we want on the landscape. We don’t necessarily want the ones that are causing problems all the time.”

Is this the dry canyon pack? If so it has been around for a while now and the numbers should be greater then 8..

EDIT: should have looked sooner, they are probably part of the diamond pack.

The pack is said to run south of Sullivan Lake, between the Salmo and Diamond Pack territories.

Kill 'em all boys...   It's obvious not a person in Olympia gives a rats behind about  the Woodland Caribou or a very popular and healthy Moose herd.  We need leaders in Olympia not conformists.  I wonder how much revenue is generated by the Moose hunters alone in this state along with all their family members and buddies whom travel and spend thousands on each trip.

The powers to be in Olympia wouldn't know the difference between applesauce and baby poop if I fed it to them on a spoon.  My goodness the amount of revenue a dilapidated  WDFW would generate selling just a dozen wolf permits alone would bring in.  Wow+P  Schmucks!  Not to mention killing theses wolves won't be easy, which will make the anti's happy.  It's a win win!  It's obvious they are not working for "we the people", and their agenda is completely harmful to those whom live amongst wolves.

Kill 'em boys!   :)
