300 RUM Remmington Sendero (possible buildup)
« on: August 28, 2014, 02:06:28 PM »
Here is what I am thinking!!!

Base rifle: Remmington Sendero  SFII in 300 RUM fitted with a muzzle brake some nice FFP scope with zero stop on the elevation, 5.5 to 25 power, 30 to 35 MILS adjustment in elevation, and a MLR type crosshair

Possible ammunition: 230 Grain Berger OTM Hybrid, G1 BC = 0.742 @ 2900 FPS

Min COAL with that bullet = 3.755"
Max COAL with that bullet = 3.944"

Does anyone know the max COAL that can fit in the magazine of a Rem Sendero in 300 RUM??

I could get 3.6500 in the factory box on my sendero. Now i have the 3.8 wyatts box and load my 215 bergers at 3.800 i shoot at max with retumbo... 90.2 grains and get 2950. This is a very mild load but shoots extremely well out of my rifle and is very easy on brass. I have a 6-24 vortex pst on it with moa retical in ffp and its a great set up for my use (to 1k)

The .300 Ultra Magnum loaded right with the bullet not seated too deeply so as not to be down in the powders column which in turn would take up powder space, which translates to loss of velocity.  Is going to be a single shot. May want to take a look at the .300 Win Mag and the 230 OTM, it's a wicked combo and easy to set up as a repeater. The 230 OTM is a looooong bullet.
