FIRST BLACKTAIL!
« on: September 24, 2014, 08:44:41 AM »
Well i know ya'll will ask for the story so here it is .... last night after work i headed out to hunt a farm i have access to.  After i arrived i jumped over 15 deer and couldn;t get in range of a single one.  I did walk up on a yearling about 10 feet in front of me and i just kept walking let her live another year not that desperate plus i have better ethics.  at about 1830 i spotted a doe about 50 yards away tried to walk up on her to get in range and she winded me (after alot of walking i was sweating).  It started to drizzle and daylight was buring very fast!  So i decided i will pack up put my bow on passenger seat and got in the truck and was about to leave, when i saw two deer in the filed to the right 40 yards, i left the trucking running and jumped out grabbed my bow and didn;t even close my door ( i wasn't on a road i will still in the filed driving back to the main road still a good ways away, anyway... i got out and guestimated at 30 yards went to full draw and released! loud smack! and a high jump and then a really low quick sprint.  Since day light was fading i didn't wait a full hour or so and went and look about 15-20 min after waiting.  found blood, which wasn't hard and the arrow.  Now you're not going to believe this, but it was a double lung and heart shot in one!  went in right behind the shoulder and came out the chest.  The deer ran about 80 yards and was laying behin a tree.  It was hell getting it in the bed of the truck by myself but a little redneck ingenunity and it worked.  Got home last night and cleaned him.  He isn't the biggest buck or deer but weight is guessed at 120lbs.  Still stoked! So happy and thankful God gave me the opportunity and the chance to hunt and let me harvest this beautiful spike.

Great job. My wife got her first deer (blacktail doe) this year and is still riding the high. Congratulations
Now therefore, please take your weapons, your quiver and thy bow, and go out to the field and hunt game for me

I'd rather be hated for what I am then be loved for what I'm not

Is it me, or are people getting dumber
