I found out last night that our friends I was going to ask to stay at their place in Newport are going to be gone for opening weekend. I don't mind camping out in the National Forest and was wondering what about your knowledge of the campgrounds in the Colville, Republic, or Kettle Falls areas. Are these camprounds usually full if you don't make it before Friday? I assume like the NF around here that there are spots to pull in and set up where available. The reason why I was going to head to the east side is that my son has not shot a deer yet. He has taken two bulls, but no deer. He is a senior this year and is going to join the Marine Corp after graduation, so after this year I don't think I will get to do much hunting with him for four or five years. I would love to get him a buck no matter what size and that was the reason we were going to hunt the NE corner of the state. Any help or advice would be appreciated.
