Since I can't make it out this weekend to any of the generous invitations, respectfully request all share pictures and stories of this weekend's success that I know a lot of you will experience.
Keep your powder dry.

Went out with my buddy and his nephew from Georgia. We whacked 10 ducks by 9am and had to head in, bosses orders. It was blowing hard, 15-20 steady and cold. Can't wait for tomorrow morning. Did I mention that one of the Drake Teal we got was banded! What a sweet day.

Just says Washington, October 17, 2008. I didn't know they banded Teal. I was pretty shocked when I saw the band on it.

Saturday was poor for us (grays harbor...) We only shot two birds by 10am. Saturday weather in the chehalis gap was relatively warm and calm.
Birds were all high and headed back for the coast...
My son did get his first shot at a duck, so a good day for that reason....

Sat down at my spot till 10am today and nothing
Yesterday the water had no ice, today it was almost 2" thick. Took us almost an hour to hack out a nice hole. I drove by the local lake and it was covered with birds. I would have thought they would have had to come out looking for food more often, but they never left the lake. Bummer

We hunted Ridgefield yesterday.
Got 6 birds.
Took awhile to get a decoy pattern the liked, then the rest was fun.
