Duck hunting on JBLM
« on: October 05, 2014, 10:13:34 PM »
Hey anyone know the process to duck hunt on jblm? I would like to try it out this year, but not sure how to get set up. Any advice? What hoops do I have to jump through?

For civilian, Im not sure of the process but when i was stationed there it was the same process for hunting deer and such. Have to register your guns with the Provost Marshall. Go to the adventure center and pay to watch a safety video. than your ready to go, have to call in to range control for areas you can hunt, must call in to the TA you will be in and call again when you leave.

When i was still in the Army and stationed there, I didnt feel there was much great hunting. But thats just mean, it might be a gold mine to someone else.

go to the adventure center.  they will help you get set up and be legal.  there are quite a few sloughs and marshes on the south eastern side that i found productive.  johnson marsh i think.
Tell me how many pieces of flair you want me to wear.

go in the main gate to North Fort, take a right at the first light and follow the road, it'll be on your left.

Civilians need to check in at the visitors' center on the south side of I-5 before anything else. If you try to go through the gate to North Fort they will stop you and send you there. You need auto registration, proof of insurance, and ID. They run a check on you before the pass is issued.

If he is asking about hunting JBLM I doubt access is the issue.

1. Get weapons you plan to bring on post registered - get forms from Waller Hall..get Cdr to sign...Take back.

2. If ya dont have licenses...buy them...or you can at the NWAC

3. Go to NWAC (253) 967-6263 and watch their video...takes like 30 mins

At that point its a matter of calling into the area. I believe AD Military can sign into the area the day before..A nice benefit given that the areas are limited to x number hunters
