Sounds like a good cause to support! Long term, the fire should benefit wildlife, but with so much winter range destroyed, the next few years are going to be a problem. (BTW, How many extra special hunt permits/second tags etc., did WDFW issue to substantially reduce herd numbers because of the Carlton Complex wildfire- I had heard thru the rumor mill 2,000?) I HOPE that was a gross exaggeration.
They should set up a booth for donations the Friday after Thanksgiving as well. That is the Christmas Lighting festival, and it draws in a lot of money over that weekend.

We use to go every year but I have not made it last two years.Tons of people in town that weekend.
