Black tail hunting question
« on: October 15, 2014, 04:58:49 PM »
Okay so these critters seem to be very hard to find.  Do you guys generally walk up to the clear cuts and walk through on the logging roads slowly or park it on a stump for hours?   They seem to really like ferns from what I can tell but any advice would be most appreciated.   What is the most productive way to hunt clear cuts I another set of words?  Thanks

I have had more success with blackies by hunting nasty, windy, rainy days concentraitng on timber edges and not so much whe wide open.  Hot and sunny days stay in the deep timber and forget the clear cuts.

Windy and rainy days are best.

Thanks!  I went out today so that was a good call.  Saw two females but that was about it.  Might sleep in next time and focus on mid day.  Seems to be their seven inning stretch from what I have read......
