Welcome to WA and this site! Cage trapping is interesting (and sometimes exhausting). I personally have never used lures a lot even when we could use real traps. For predators (bobcat, mink) I wire a chunk of beaver meat to the back of the cage. For otter and beaver sets, an underwater, double door, swim-through trap seems to work the best. Don't count on catching coyotes in a cage.
I have heard that if you use gland lures for cats, make sure you put it in the back of the cage. If you get it on the front of the cage, the cats rub on it and spring the trap without going in.
I'm sure you will get a lot of advice from the more experienced trappers here. Have a great season and keep us posted.
